Nicholas Sarwark is Executive Director of the Libertarian Policy Institute. He served as Chair of the Libertarian National Committee from 2014 to 2020, a period of unprecedented growth. You should not apologize whatsoever for networking. You should apologize, if at all, for the weeks (days?) that you don’t do it. In my opinion, you should be about as shy about it as a Reeperbahn hooker.
Alan Dershowitz did not network effectively, and met a great shock when he got rejection letters from Wall Street law firms after graduating first in his class and EoC of the Harvard Law Review, or so I am told. (It wasn’t his personality, they didn’t even interview him to find out he was obnoxious.) He eventually landed well but who needs the aggro?
I was shy, and it cost me.
