A Cry for Help

I’m not normally one for blegging, but if any readers know people at DC law firms and would be willing to pass my resume along for a 2007 Summer Associate position, I’d be greatly appreciative.

  1. I ran an excel spreadsheet of D.C. Law Firms, but could not attach it here. Still, I was able to copy the names of the firms and using a Google Search will probably provide you with their web site. I pray the God will provide you with an ideal position and may He bless you indeed.

  2. You should not apologize whatsoever for networking. You should apologize, if at all, for the weeks (days?) that you don’t do it. In my opinion, you should be about as shy about it as a Reeperbahn hooker.

Alan Dershowitz did not network effectively, and met a great shock when he got rejection letters from Wall Street law firms after graduating first in his class and EoC of the Harvard Law Review, or so I am told. (It wasn’t his personality, they didn’t even interview him to find out he was obnoxious.) He eventually landed well but who needs the aggro?

I was shy, and it cost me.

I have some ideas for networking strategies but won’t list them here. Email me from a secure email account and I will email you my suggestions, for whatever they are worth.
